Terri was born and raised in Los Angeles, but her family was originally from the South. Growing up, she was always surrounded by the smells and flavors of home-cooked southern meals. As she got older, Terri got into cooking and baking, eventually mastering the recipes she had grown up around.

Terri experienced a devastating tragedy that changed her life forever, the loss of her 17 year old son, Alex. She was left with a deep hurt that she could not seem to cope with. Her friends tried to be supportive, but nothing they said or did seemed to help.

During a walk through the farmers market, she became fascinated by all the fresh fruits and homemade jams and jellies. Making jams and jellies at home became therapeutic and calming for her as she experimented with making them.

As she stirred and cooked the fruit, she felt her heart healing. All of her sadness seemed to evaporate into the steam rising from the pot. Wanting to share her family's love of food with the world, she decided to start her own business. As Terri began presenting her creations at food shows throughout Los Angeles, word of her delicious creations spread rapidly. Soon, the little Los Angeles girl who had grown up with southern cooking was a success.

L.A. Farm Girl came to life. People started coming from all over the city to buy her jams and jellies. She was amazed by the response and the newfound joy. Terri was featured in the nation magazine, Where Women Create, with an edition that also featured Paula Deen and Trisha Yearwood.

With each jam and jelly jar she crafted, her business blossomed. She knew that her product held far more than a tasty treat; each jar carried the immense joy, healing, and love that she had for her beloved son Alex.
